HUMANITARIAN CONVOY
Of the 17 to January 27, 2003Humanitarian convoy in favour of Séguéla’s populations of in besieged zone (Medicines of 1st necessity, rice, soaps, milks.) with the support of Canada.
In the month of January 2003, we organized a convoy of supplies and the medicines of first necessities for a total cost of about 13 millions. This operation was possible thanks to the financial support of Canadian Cooperation (ACDI). This grant was destined to the department of Séguéla and 8 sub prefectures (Kani, Worofla, Sifié, Morondo, Massalla, Djiborosso, Dualla, Séguéla) zones under control of the new strengths.
The populations of this zone welcomed with emotion the first humanitarian convoy that arrived them since the beginning of the crisis in September.
EUROPEAN INITIATIVE OF HUMAN RIGHTS (EIHR)
29 to 4, February 2003, we participated to one seminary to the European initiative of the Human rights in Dakar. This meeting had for objective to think about the different problems concerning Human Rights in West Africa, and to put regional mechanisms in place for a better result.
At the end of this seminary, it has been decided to put a flat regional shape coordinated by 3 countries in place, a French-speaking country (the Coast of Ivory), an English-speaking country (Nigeria) and a country loophole (The Guinea Bissau.
The setting up of the flat shape is in progress and the works continue with the European union.
REDYNAMISATION OF THE SECTIONS
In our plan of 2003activities, face to the foreground the re energization of the sections.
Indeed, one of the strengths of the organization, it is certainly the sections of which it arranges through the country and that facilitates the different activities and permits to reach the deep country also.
Long before and again since the war, most sections remained inactive.
We put a plan of re energization of the sections therefore in place in order to make them more active. The program consists of the reorganization of the sections, the initiation of activities to their intention, of the courses of initiation and backing in various domains according to the initiated programs.
On this day, we could enliven the sections of Bouaké and Bouaflés. But we lack means for the meantime for the next stages are in stand by.
INTERNAL FORMATION
We have on this day organized of the sessions of internal formation of renforcement sur the themes following:
1) What’s an NGO?
2) Why do we adhere to an NGO?
3) What one can bring to its organisation?
4) What are our rights and duties within the NGO?
5) How to elaborate a micro-project?
6) Continuing education in Human rights
7 The hold of the speech in public
8) The conditions of success of an organisation (manners ; to know -how; to make know how)
The sessions are enlivened leave of the members of the organization having an experience on the subject 1 times per week and we intend to open these formations to other organizations.
We have planned several courses of capacity backing for the members of the organisation in mediation and resolution of conflicts, in data processing, in English.
INVOLVEMENT TO THE PLAN OF ACTION STRENGTHENS
The Consolidated call Plan initiated by the United Nations to help cote d’ivoire to bring some answers to the different problems bound to the crisis and to allow the country to leave this situation in the best conditions.
We are members of the sectorial protection group and let's participate in the meetings for the set of this program.
PROJECT OF LITERACY
We established a program of literacy of the women of 4 townships of Abidjan. This are : Adjamé Koumassi, Port-Bouet and Treichville.
For the starting, the project concerns 100 women presently in every township.
The learners have been recruited, the formatters also. The administrative steps are in progress with the autonomous service of literacy (SAA), the formation of the formative and formative is planned for August - September
The beginning of programs is foreseen for next October.
COALITION OF THE WIFE LEADERS OF RATING OF IVOIRE(CFELCI)
In April and May 2003 we took an active part in the setting up of the coalition of women leaders of Coast of Ivory initiated by the American cultural centre. We contributed to the reaction of the intenal rules and regulations therefore, in the elections of the present office and the chairwoman of the OFACI is elected member of this office as Auditors.
SITE WEB
We have a Web site that is available on www.ofaci.org The objective is to make better know our organization and to integrate the new techniques of communication in our approach. The site is always under construction and we wait for the means to finish it. THE EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL ASSEMBLY
In May 2003, we held an Extraordinary General Assembly that had for agenda the change of the 1st article that speaks of the denomination of the organization lately. Considering a certain number of factors, age adopted the change of the name the organization that becomes NGO Woman Active-woman of Cote d’Ivoire " in OFACI acronym.age gave instruction in the Office to take all useful arrangements for making possible this decision (the obtaining of receipt declaration. )
PROJECTS
In addition to these activities, the organization through his/her/its different commissions of work daily to the development of projects. We already put in some projects.:
- seminaries of formation :
* Theme : Formation of women to the mediation and resolution processes of conflicts and for the involvement citizen.
* Theme : Contribution to the reconciliation of civil populations. - The draft 0 of the bimonthly newspaper
VARIOUS
- Several meet with representatives of international organisms come in Cote d’ivoire to inquire of the evolution of the socio-economic situation.
- Involvement to several meets with the minister for national reconciliation in the setting of the process of reconciliation.
